The Book Thief by Markus Zusak - A Review

I finished this book quite a while ago, and I still catch myself thinking about some of the people in it. Not because they're larger than life, but because they feel like people you could have known. Hans was my favorite. His kindness felt quiet and genuine, never forced.

The writing took me a few chapters to settle into, but once I did, I found myself slowing down and really taking in the story. It's less about big plot twists and more about the relationships, small acts of compassion, and the way ordinary lives are shaped by difficult times.

There are plenty of books set during World War II, but this one felt different to me. More personal. More focused on the people than the history.
