A card. A call. A hug. A prayer.
Small acts of kindness can mean everything to someone facing cancer.
When someone receives a cancer diagnosis, it's often the simple gestures they remember most. A thoughtful message. A meal dropped off at the door. A friend who checks in regularly. A ride to an appointment. A hand to hold during a difficult moment.
People sometimes worry they don't know the right thing to say or do. The truth is you don't need grand gestures. You just need to show up. Acts of kindness may seem small to the people offering them, but they made a tremendous difference to the receiver.
My faith also taught me the power of prayer and encouragement. Some of the greatest comfort came from knowing others were lifting me up in prayer and asking God to give me strength for another day. Those prayers carried me through moments when I felt overwhelmed and uncertain.
This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, remember that you don't have to solve someone's problems to make a difference. A kind word, a listening ear, a note of encouragement, or a simple prayer can bring hope when it's needed most.
Never underestimate the impact of a small act of kindness.
