October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 💗
Breast cancer has touched two generations of my family.
I am a 20-year survivor, and my mom is a 30-year survivor. Together, our journey is a powerful reminder of how far we've come in the fight against breast cancer and why awareness remains so important.
Our experiences were different, but we share a deep appreciation for the advances in research, treatment, and early detection that have helped countless women live longer, healthier lives. We know firsthand that a diagnosis is not the end of the story. There is hope, there is strength, and there is life beyond cancer.
Faith has also been an important part of our story. Through the uncertainties, fears, and challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis, we found comfort in trusting God and leaning on His strength. There were days when the road seemed difficult, but our faith reminded us that we were never walking it alone. God's grace carried us through the hard moments and filled our hearts with hope for the future.
Looking back, I am grateful for every screening, every medical breakthrough, and every healthcare professional who has dedicated their life to helping patients and families navigate this journey. Those efforts have given my mom and me years we might not otherwise have had, years filled with family, milestones, memories, and countless blessings.
This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I encourage everyone to prioritize their health, schedule recommended screenings and remind the people they love to do the same. Awareness, screenings, and early detection truly save lives.
My mom's 30 years and my 20 years of survivorship are living proof. More importantly, they are a testament to God's faithfulness, the power of perseverance, and the blessing of never giving up hope. We are grateful for every day and thankful for the opportunity to share a message of hope with others who may be walking a similar path.
