The changing points of view gradually reveal how connected everyone's lives are. Small details that seem unimportant at first end up carrying a lot of weight later. The story spent a lot of time inside the characters' thoughts, and that made the secrets, lies, and misunderstandings feel believable rather than exaggerated.
Several characters were difficult to trust, which created constant uncertainty about what had happened and who was telling the truth. Each new chapter seemed to shift the picture slightly, making it hard to settle on a single explanation.
A few sections felt repetitive, particularly when Rachel's personal struggles took center stage, and some developments were easier to predict than others. Even so, the mystery held my attention, and the final revelations tied the story together well.
The combination of damaged characters, hidden motives, and tangled relationships made for an entertaining read. The story spends as much time exploring obsession, loneliness, and deception as it does solve the mystery, giving it more depth than a straightforward crime novel.
