Starbucks Hot Chocolate Recipe

It's getting mighty chilly out there!!
Serves 8
2 cups water
8 Tablespoons cocoa
8 Tablespoons sugar
6 cups milk
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
Peppermint flavoring (about 1/2 tsp)
whipped cream
chocolate shavings (optional)

Measure water, cocoa and sugar into a glass measuring cup. Stir well. Microwave on high for 1-2 minutes to make a chocolate syrup. Stir in milk and vanilla and peppermint syrup (optional). Microwave until warm. If you don't have peppermint syrup you can add a few peppermint candies to the pot. Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Perfect for this time of year too!
