This one was cute, but it didn’t fully grab me the way I hoped it would. I liked the small‑town Texas setting and the overall cozy vibe, and it definitely has that charming, easygoing feel the series is going for. It was a relaxed read, and I never felt bored, but I also didn’t feel especially invested.
The romance was sweet, but a little predictable. I enjoyed the chemistry in theory, but it never quite sparked into something memorable for me. Some moments felt rushed, while others dragged just a bit, and I wanted more emotional depth to really sell their connection. I liked the characters well enough, but I didn’t fall in love with them.
Overall, this felt like a perfectly fine comfort romance. Nothing bad, nothing standout. It’s the kind of book you enjoy in the moment but don’t think much about afterward. For me, it landed right in the middle enjoyable, light, but ultimately forgettable.
★★★
Summertime relaxation read, but not so involved you can't stop reading to pay attention to real life?
