Whine, Whine, Whine

Sometimes life just flat-out stinks. No poetic phrasing. No silver lining. Just one of those moments where everything feels heavy, frustrating, and overwhelming. Today is one of those days.

Completely. Totally. Okay—maybe not completely.

I barely finished that thought when my two-year-old grabbed my hand, led me into the living room, and insisted we dance to a song from Robin Hood. And just like that, perspective showed up uninvited.

So here we go—time to count the blessings again.

Dancing with children
Sticky, spontaneous kid kisses
First words
That unexpected belly laugh that comes from nowhere
Tiny whispers in your ear
“Mom, I love you”
Cars that run (mostly—okay, that might still be a complaint)
Cats and dogs peacefully coexisting
Hopelessly romantic movies like The Notebook
Little hands and little feet
Soft music playing in the background
Fresh, clean sheets
Air conditioning

Life can still feel messy. The day doesn’t magically fix itself. But in moments like this, it’s hard to miss the quiet gifts tucked into the chaos, waiting patiently for us to notice.
