Here’s my slightly ridiculous but shockingly effective air-freshening hack:
Picture this: a house with a mechanic, six kids, a Blue Heeler, a kitten, and a bunny… and me, cursed with a superhero-level sense of smell. I refuse to live in a cloud of mystery odors.
Instead of chasing smells room by room, I go straight to the source of airflow. One tiny spritz of air freshener into the cold air return, or a single fabric softener sheet tucked near the HVAC filter, and boom — the scent travels through the entire house. No over-spraying, no wasting product, no chemical fog. One squirt. Whole house. Done.
It’s like putting your freshener on vampire mode: minimal effort, maximum reach.
