Vicksburg National Military Park

Vicksburg National Military Park in Vicksburg, Mississippi, was established in 1899 to commemorate the battle of Vicksburg and protect the ground upon which it was fought.  The main part of the park runs along the boundaries of the city of Vicksburg and includes the majority of the original battlefield.

Kevin and I toured the park the day after we dropped off the kids to their dad.  It was very interesting. (Extremely HOT and HUMID, but interesting.)  Here's some photos of our whirlwind tour!  We are hoping to take all six of the kids there when we pick the oldest four up.
