God’s Garden
God is the Master Gardener
which grows within my heart.
He seeks to walk within me,
and as He walks, He talks.
But weeds and briers from past sins
can block His walk and talk,
so I must let Him weed and dig
and cultivate my heart.
And they heard the voice of Jehovah God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of Jehovah God amongst the trees of the garden. Genesis 3:8God is the Master Gardener
which grows within my heart.
He seeks to walk within me,
and as He walks, He talks.
But weeds and briers from past sins
can block His walk and talk,
so I must let Him weed and dig
and cultivate my heart.
My heart is God’s garden. Do I allow Him to walk in my heart? Do I hear His voice or hide myself from His presence. There are many things that can be in my garden which would hide His voice. I can have weeds of unconfessed sin. I can have business. I can allow bitterness and unforgiveness fill my heart. It is up to me to allow the Master Gardener weed out anything in my heart that would make it difficult for Him to walk in it or block my hearing. In the cool of the evening, as I lay on my bed, I check daily with God and ask Him to cultivate the soil of my heart that it will be a pleasing garden for Him.
Prayer: Father, keep weeding and pruning and grow Your garden in me according to Your pleasure.
My mom wrote this. She has been writing devotions for as long as I can remember.
