Losin' - Tenth Avenue North (With Lyrics)

"Losing"

I can't believe what she said
I can't believe what he did
Oh, don't they know it's wrong, yeah?
Don't they know it's wrong, yeah?
Maybe there's something I missed
But how could they treat me like this?
It's wearing out my heart
The way they disregard

This is love, this is hate...
We all have a choice to make

Oh, Father won't You forgive them?
They don't know what they've been doin' (oh no)
Oh, Father, give me grace to forgive them
'Cause I feel like the one losin'

Well it's only the dead that can live
But still I wrestle with this
To lose the pain that's mine
Seventy times seven times
'Cause Lord it doesn't feel right
For me to turn a blind eye
Though I guess it's not that much
When I think of what You've done.

This is love, this is hate...
We've got a choice to make

Oh, Father won't You forgive them?
They don't know what they've been doin' (oh no)
Oh, Father, give me grace to forgive them
'Cause I feel like the one losin'

Oh, no!

Why do we think that hate's gonna change their heart?
We're up in arms over wars that don't need to be fought
But pride won't let us lay our weapons on the ground
We build our bridges up but just to burn them down
We think pain is owed apologies and then it'll stop
But truth be told it doesn't matter if they're sorry or not
Freedom comes when we surrender to the sound
Of mercy and Your grace, Father, send Your angels down

[x2]
Oh, Father won't you forgive them?
They don't know what they've been doin' (oh no)
Oh, Father, give me grace to forgive them
'Cause I feel like the one losin'
Yeah, I feel like I've been losing

Oh, Father, give me grace to forgive them
'Cause I feel like the one losin'
I feel like I've been losin'

Oh, Father, give me grace to forgive them
'Cause I feel like the one losin'

Worn by Tenth Avenue North

"Worn"

I’m Tired I’m worn
My heart is heavy
From the work it takes
To keep on breathing
I’ve made mistakes
I’ve let my hope fail
My soul feels crushed
By the weight of this world

And I know that you can give me rest
So I cry out with all that I have left

Let me see redemption win
Let me know the struggle ends
That you can mend a heart
That’s frail and torn
I wanna know a song can rise
From the ashes of a broken life
And all that’s dead inside can be reborn
Cause I’m worn

I know I need to lift my eyes up
But I'm too weak
Life just won’t let up
And I know that you can give me rest
So I cry out with all that I have left

Let me see redemption win
Let me know the struggle ends
That you can mend a heart
That’s frail and torn
I wanna know a song can rise
From the ashes of a broken life
And all that’s dead inside can be reborn
Cause I’m worn

My prayers are wearing thin
Yeah, I’m worn
Even before the day begins
Yeah, I’m worn
I’ve lost my will to fight
I’m worn
So, heaven come and flood my eyes

Let me see redemption win
Let me know the struggle ends
That you can mend a heart
That’s frail and torn
I wanna know a song can rise
From the ashes of a broken life
And all that’s dead inside can be reborn
Cause all that’s dead inside will be reborn

Though I’m worn
Yeah I’m worn

Sanctus Real - Lead Me (Official Music Video)

"Lead Me"

I look around and see my wonderful life
Almost perfect from the outside
In picture frames I see my beautiful wife
Always smiling
But on the inside, I can hear her saying...

"Lead me with strong hands
Stand up when I can't
Don't leave me hungry for love
Chasing dreams, what about us?

Show me you're willing to fight
That I'm still the love of your life
I know we call this our home
But I still feel alone"

I see their faces, look in their innocent eyes
They're just children from the outside
I'm working hard, I tell myself they'll be fine
They're in independent
But on the inside, I can hear them saying...

"Lead me with strong hands
Stand up when I can't
Don't leave me hungry for love
Chasing dreams, but what about us?

Show me you're willing to fight
That I'm still the love of your life
I know we call this our home
But I still feel alone"

So Father, give me the strength
To be everything I'm called to be
Oh, Father, show me the way
To lead them
Won't You lead me?

To lead them with strong hands
To stand up when they can't
Don't want to leave them hungry for love,
Chasing things that I could give up

I'll show them I'm willing to fight
And give them the best of my life
So we can call this our home
Lead me, 'cause I can't do this alone

Father, lead me, 'cause I can't do this alone.

Amazing Song.

Redeeming Love: A Novel - A Review

Redeeming Love: A Novel

By Francine Rivers

Publisher's Synopsis: A Story of Love That Won't Let Go - No Matter What!

California’s gold country, 1850. A time when men sold their souls for a bag of gold and women sold their bodies for a place to sleep.

Angel expects nothing from men but betrayal. Sold into prostitution as a child, she survives by keeping her hatred alive. And what she hates most are the men who use her, leaving her empty and dead inside.

Then she meets Michael Hosea, a man who seeks his Father’s heart in everything. Michael obeys God’s call to marry Angel and to love her unconditionally. Slowly, day by day, he defies Angel’s every bitter expectation, until despite her resistance, her frozen heart begins to thaw.

But with her unexpected softening comes overwhelming feelings of unworthiness and fear. And so Angel runs. Back to the darkness, away from her husband’s pursuing love, terrified of the truth she no longer can deny: Her final healing must come from the One who loves her even more than Michael does…the One who will never let her go.

A powerful retelling of the story of Gomer and Hosea, Redeeming Love is a life-changing story of God’s unconditional, redemptive, all-consuming love.

My Thoughts:  I somewhat enjoyed this book. It was a quick read.  I prefer not read about depressing situations, life is full of enough on its own.  However, the title of this book clearly states, Redeeming Love.  Ms. Rivers brought scriptures and example to life in this title. I did enjoy it.  I also was very glad that there was an end to the story. No guessing, everything wrapped up and all questions answered.

No spoilers here but here are a couple of my favorite quotes:

"Every blessing comes down from the Father, not in payment for good done, but as a gift."

"This is my God box," she said "When problems prey on my mind, I write them down, fold them up, and put them through the slot. Once they're inside this box, they're God's problems and not mine." I am so going to do this!!!

I actually purchased this book...no disclaimer needed this time!

My Thoughts:
Miraval's Sweet and Savory Cooking is a beautiful book.  High quality photos and delicious sounding recipes. I read cook books like novels, yes I am a bit odd it seems.  This is a great coffee table cook book. Also this is a great gook for an advanced cook with  lots of time and a large food budget.  I enjoyed flipping through my digital copy but this cookbook isn't for me.  If you are an advanced cook, by all means make this one a staple on your shelves.

Note: I was provided a free digital copy of this title in exchange for my honest review.

OMG! That's Paleo: A Book Review

OMG! that's PALEO?

Juli Bauer

Scribe Publishing Company

The author of OMG! That's Paleo, Juli Bauer is also a Blogger with a very active Paleo blog.  She begins this book explaining the Paleo lifestyle in a very simple, humorous style. I have been considering going "Paleo" for about a year and this book most definitely answered some of the questions I had on going Paleo. After explaining about the diet and what foods are acceptable she goes on to explain how to prepare these foods and what staple ingredients she recommends to keep in your kitchen. Personally, I adore vegetables. I am not a big meat eater though.  I love pork, chicken and fish if well prepared but I can leave beef in the pasture. I adore jasmine rice, breads, beans and peanut butter so I won't be going strict Paleo anytime soon.

The recipes are divine. A few of my family's favorites so far are: Chicken Basil Meatloaf, Bacon Chicken Alfredo! (Yes, seriously) and Creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta. All four of my kids left at home has thoroughly enjoyed all of the recipes I have tried thus far.  (If you are a mom you understand how important that it!) Ms. Bauer's is a great story teller and uses humor while explaining all those pesky questions about Paleo.

Disclaimer: I was provided a digital copy of this title from Net Galley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.
