Cincinnati Chili Recipe

1 qt. water
2 lbs. lean hamburger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cumin seed or ground cumin
2 lg. onions, chopped
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
4 cloves garlic, crushed
2 tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. red pepper or chili pepper
1 tbsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. ground allspice
1 (16 oz.) can tomato paste
1 1/2 tbsp. cider vinegar
3 lg. whole bay leaves

Crumble raw (do not brown) hamburger into water. Add all ingredients. Bring to boil, then simmer for 3 hours. Remove bay leaves. Serve on cooked rice or spaghetti noodles with grated cheddar on top! Mmmmmmmm

This is truly one of my favorite dishes. Perfect for this time of year too!

  7. My husband loves this stuff. My mil brings the season packets from cin. though and I just use those.
It is def. not the kind of chili I grew up with! But it is great on spaghetti and hot dogs.
