Works for Me Wednesday

Okay, I have a very, very wonderful tip. I am fairly new at having a cat in the house. Just not fond of them and the stench! Well, after trying baking soda and expensive liters I was begging my friends for advice. LaDonna recommended sprinkling Borax in the liter pan before putting in the liter. Oh my oh my......Miracle Worker! Who woudda thunk it!
No more smelly liter pan. Now, does anyone have any recommendations on how to keep the dog from eating the cat poo out of the pan?

  1. Have you tried Feline Pine? I don't think it stinks near as much as 'regular litter'. Can't help you with the dog, though. LOL

  2. We have covered cat boxes with air filters on them somewhat like this one.

It's sort of like a cat bathroom.

  3. When I had a cat, I got tired of the bits of kitty litter that got kicked out as the cat covered her business, and then again when she jumped out. So I bought a large and tall Rubbermaid tote with a lid and cut a 6" diameter hole in the top of the lid, so the cat went into the box from on top, instead of from the side. It seems like this might also keep the dog out of the box...

Thanks for stopping by The Happy Ones!

  4. We use Swheat Scoop litter which, oddly enough, smells like bread dough when it's wet. Much better!

You might just have to be extra diligent with the poopies in the box. Toss them in the toilet as soon as the cat is finished and the dog won't have a chance to chow down. (ick!)

  5. I used to put baking soda in the litter box to help with the odor, but I bet borax would last longer.
